Portfolio Task 6

Single currency causes any problems?

People travel for vacation or for business. They use exchange currency companies to change currency. Some people suggest if there is a global currency it will make it easy; my opinion is yes it is a good idea and it would help a lot in many ways. In this essay I will write why I agree with this idea, how it is going to affect other countries and what are the bad things that are going to affect people.

Currency is money but it is different from one country to another; there are different prices, ratings and even shapes. The first reason why I agree with this idea is the prices will be similar which means it will not change from one country to another. In this time when people travel they find big differences in price which can ruin some people’s plans.

Although there are some advantages there are also some disadvantages. The first disadvantage is the different economic states. For example, some countries have very strong economies so they will lose. Another disadvantage is that most countries will not accept the idea because they have a good economy. The last point is that I think the economy will be weak in all countries.

In conclusion, I think having a global currency is not a good idea because some countries have a high economy, and some countries don’t have.

Portfolio Task 5

Portfolio Task 5

The line graph below shows the number of annual visits to Australia by overseas residents. The table below gives information on the country of origin where the visitors came from.in this graph, I will outline the information given in the table.

First of all, the number of visits to Australia grew quite steadily through these years. According to the chart, in 1975 there were just around 10 million visits. However, just ten years after, this figure became 15 million. The number of visits to Australia grew to 23 million in 1995. In 2005, the number of visitors to Australia increased to around 30 million. Most visitors went there from Japan, there were 12.0 million.

In conclusion, the number of visitors increased from one year to another. In 1975 there were 8.8 million, but in 2005 the number of people increased to 30.4 million.

Portfolio task 4

Portfolio task 4

Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. In this argument I will outline the views and I will give my opinion.

Many people argue that to be successful in today’s highly competitive world, individuals should have the skills which can grant competitive advantage over the masses. Admittedly, this idea is mostly true for the entrepreneurs who must have the determination and skills to pursue and realize their dreams. Further, in a sector such as advertising and marketing, the specialists generally need to put the welfare of their company in front of the masses and therefore choose competitive individuals over the good of all.

However, cooperative people are required to make any organization develop. Teaching children to be a part of the team gives them skills for their future work.

In conclusion, even though our children should have enough sense of competitiveness to better themselves, they need to be more encouraged to cooperate to be more beneficial to the society and to achieve greater accomplishments. After all, two hands can always make more noise than one hand.

Portfolio Task 3

Balanced diet

The increasing rising standard has allowed people to give more attention to health. Some people assert that a healthy body is the key to our wellbeing. As far as I am concerned, there have been both merits and demerits regarding to this standpoint.

No one can deny the fact that a healthy diet is one of the imperative factors contributing to people’s wellbeing. Malnutrition is still among the top causes of death in some impoverished countries in Africa, where there has never been adequate food distributed to each household. Lack of essential vitamins or some minerals can lead to severe consequences, even death. Nevertheless, a surfeit and overfeeding of junk food is not desirable for people as well. Nowadays, a number of people are plagued with obesity and diseases, most of which resulted from overeating or improper diet. Thus a balanced diet will help people lead a healthy life.

Admittedly, a sound diet is not the sole influence on people’s health. There are a large number of other factors. The sport is very important for health; regular exercise significantly boosts the function of heart and lung.

In conclusion, I concede that a sound diet is critical to our physical wellbeing. Nonetheless, there are many other factors to making our body function well.
